If You Want the Results Keep Taking the Actions


We will always produce results consistent with the majority of our actions. What actions are you taking to consistently move you toward your goals? Now is the time to take a look at how you'll finish the year 2008. Will you close it out strong and solid and set for action moving into 2009, or struggle to keep moving and hope the new year brings with it new success? Your results will be determined by one word: consistency.

As I work with clients and participants in the Get Clients Now!(TM) program one of the hallmarks of those who produce outstanding results in as little as 28 days is their consistent action and accountability. They design a set of marketing-related activities they will do consistently for a prescribed period of time, and those who stick with their plan have the results to show for it.

During this time of economic challenge it is more important than ever to have a plan and execute it, consistently. Just like a sports athlete who periodically goes through a slump and doesn't quit practicing, it's important right now to stick to your game plan. Know your targets and keep taking the actions to move you toward them. Here are some questions to ask yourself this week:

  • What are your key objectives as we move into the final two months of the year?
  • What absolutely, positively has to happen in your business to finish up the year strong?
  • What basic activities, if done consistently will lead you to those results?
  • Who will you be accountable to on a regular basis?
  • What will you do to get back on track if you veer off course?
  • What if the actions you're taking aren't producing results? Make sure it's a matter of "not yet" rather than "not at all" before you abandon them.

Here are some powerful statistics to remind you of the importance of consistent follow-through, whether in sales, business or learning a new skill:
  • 80% of all sales are made only after five or more contacts
  • 48% of all salespeople give up after the 1st contact
  • 25% give up after the 2nd contact
  • 17% give up after the 3rd or 4th contact

These statistics show that 90% of the salespeople give up before 80% of the sales will ever be made!

Be one of the 10% who continues to take consistent actions and the results will speak for themselves. Finish 2008 strong in order to start 2009 strong. Get busy and practice the rule of consistency.
