ACT ON IT NOW!

I spent Saturday presenting a Best Year Yet(TM) workshop to a group of independent professionals. As always, I learn as much or more than I teach in these programs. And once again, I was reminded of the power and absolute necessity for action. We can spend hours envisioning our future, writing goals, talking about what we want and fantasizing about the magic of attraction. And those are all necessary parts of the success process. But without the catalyst of action...well it's like stirring up the ingredients for a great cake and then not putting it in the oven to bake!

As we wrap up this first half of 2008, what is that dream or goal that you said you were absolutely going to achieve this year? What is the thing you said you were going to accomplish no matter what? And more specifically what is the action you can take today, even right now to move you closer to its achievement?

Someone has said that procrastination is the thief of time. If you've been procrastinating, realize that there is not only no better time than now, there is no other time than now to recommit to accomplishing that dream or goal and then act on it! Several years ago one of my own Best Year Yet guidelines became "act on it now!" And it served as a rallying cry for me. Each time I found myself fiddling around and procrastinating instead of focusing and taking action, the guideline would pop into my head and go off like a firecracker. Do I need to tell you it was an amazingly productive year?

So take inventory right now. What did you set out to accomplish this year and what do you intend to do about it, starting today? Imagine six months from now being able to put a giant check by that goal. Imagine the sense of satisfaction and personal growth you'll experience when you do the thing you said you would. Imagine taking that next step toward its successful completion starting today.

I challenge you to declare your independence this week from whatever you've allowed to prevent you from making your own dreams come true. Go ahead and act on it now!!
