Choose Again

Some Mondays seem to take on a life of their own, and before I know it, I have gone down a path that feels like someone else’s.  I’ve gone down a path where I am not honoring my highest priorities and am not even sure what they are.  Today feels like one of those Mondays; perhaps you can relate. 

But in a brief coaching call with my Compass coach and sponsor this morning, I once again realized a truth I tend to forget.  That is:  I can choose again, and so can you.  No matter where this Monday finds us, we can choose again to transform it, to restart our day, to make it our own!

• If my day started off on someone else’s agenda, I can choose again to make it my own.
• If I started off in a less-than-positive mindset, I can choose again to turn it around and move forward from a positive intention.
• If someone pushed my button first thing and I let my emotions get the best of me, I can step back and choose again to apologize to myself, the other person or simply release that piece of history and be done with it.
• If I forgot what my focus is today or this month, this is the moment I can choose again.  I reset my goal, get clear on the big picture, identify the outcome or results I am going for and start acting on it.
• If I forgot to be grateful today for the life I am blessed to live, then now is the moment I choose gratitude over grumpiness.
• If I have too much on my calendar I can choose again to say "no" to someone else and say "yes" to myself!
• No matter what, I can choose again!

Where are you this Monday morning?  Has someone hijacked your schedule, your emotions or your focus?  Think again.  Choose again.  Refocus, because it’s never too late to have a great start to the day, week, month or year. Join me right now my friend and choose again.
